Today, 11 August 2025, the TSC Auditorium at the University of Dhaka came alive with “Kickstart Your Startup Journey: Learn from Founders, Share Your Idea, Get Mentored”, an event jointly organized by Dot Initiative and the Students’ Council for Ideal Campus (SCIC). Bringing together leading startup founders, CEOs, and changemakers, the program offered invaluable insights and inspiration to the next generation of business leaders.

The program opened with a welcome speech by K M Emrul Hasan, President of Dot Initiative & SCIC, who emphasized the vital role of young entrepreneurs in shaping the future of Bangladesh.

Esteemed guest speakers included Fahim Mashroor (CEO & Founder, BDJOBS), Tanveer Ali (Entrepreneur, Investor, and Philanthropist), Kimiya Sadat (Managing Director – Current Charge, Community Bank Bangladesh PLC), Sadia Haque (CEO, ShareTrip), Shahir Chowdhury (Founder & CEO, Shikho), Akram Hossain (Founder & CEO, Aadxcel), and Mohaimin Patwary (Writer).

During the event, the guests discussed the current startup landscape in Bangladesh, the growing priority of banks in financing startups, and practical strategies essential for achieving business success. The speeches were diverse and inspiring—some speakers shared their personal journeys, explaining how they worked step by step to reach their current positions; others highlighted the fundamental principles that aspiring entrepreneurs must keep in mind to succeed. Some also reflected on which sectors they would focus on if they were in the participants’ position today, and identified areas where Bangladesh still lags behind. These insights, experiences, and practical guidance proved to be highly impactful and motivating for the attendees.

Participants had already submitted their startup ideas during registration. Selected ideas will later receive mentorship opportunities and visits to guest companies. The event concluded with an engaging interactive session where participants shared the challenges they face in starting a startup, and guests provided tailored guidance and solutions.

Ferdous Aiam, General Secretary of Dot Initiative, shared the mission and vision of the organization. The program was hosted by Mohammad Hira Sorker, Founder of Dhaka University English Language Club and Director of One Academy.

According to both guests and participants, this initiative served as a valuable platform for learning, networking, and fostering innovation among young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh.
