Dhaka, 20 July 2025 — With an overwhelming response from undergraduates, Dot Initiative successfully launched its first research-focused workshop titled “Stepping into Research: Empowering Undergraduate Minds” at the Pharmacy Lecture Theatre (PLT), Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka.
The workshop opened with a welcome address by K. M Emrul Hasan, President of Dot Initiative, who shared,
“This is just the beginning. Dot Initiative is committed to organizing more research-based workshops, including hands-on sessions tied to our research projects.”
The Chief Guest of the event, Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, expressed his excitement over the massive student turnout.
“It’s truly inspiring to see this level of interest in research among students. I wholeheartedly encourage such programs.”
Tahmid Al Muddassir Chowdhury, M.Phil Researcher at the University of Dhaka, conducted the first session focused on the basics of research—covering the foundational steps and key mindsets needed to begin a research journey.
In the second session, Arju Afrin Kathy, Research Officer at UNDP Bangladesh, guided participants through the process of formulating effective research questions, highlighting its centrality to any research process.
“This workshop is just the beginning,” she emphasized.
The closing remarks were delivered by Raiyan Ferdous, where he outlined Dot Initiative’s current activities and future goals.
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing all participants for their enthusiasm and active engagement..
